In 2011, Mitch Winehouse released his debut album, 'Rush Of Love’ and it told a fascinating story. Mitch and Amy poured through the records they loved - jazz, big band and swing classics that laid bare the roots of the Winehouse musical DNA, the connection between the music that Mitch's East End upbringing drummed into him, which he handed onto his own children.
The press was surprised, "The temptation to dismiss it as a vanity project falls away in the face of what is actually an accomplished piece of work," wrote the Daily Telegraph.
Mitch released his second record, 'But Beautiful' on his daughter's Lioness label, three years after her tragic death, this time in aid of the Amy Winehouse Foundation. Produced by James McMillan written by Grant Black with his father, the great lyricist Don Black, contributing a new song, 'Never Too Far From A Song' a big band tribute to the love of music that sits perfectly alongside the classics like ‘Learning The Blues’, 'But Beautiful' and the bossa nova of 'Meditation'.
Mitch has performed all over the world since 'Rush Of Love' - everywhere from the legendary Ronnie Scott's to Joe's Pub in New York where Amy made her US debut and a tour of Brazil in 2015.
His and Amy's hero, the great Tony Bennett has become a close friend and Foundation supporter. When Mitch asked his favourite song, Tony replied with 'But Beautiful.'
Music has helped Mitch and his family through the tragedy of the last few years. Their belief in its power has extended to their charitable work, with the Amy Winehouse Foundation as their full focus, they have invested heavily in music projects.
Vulnerable young people use Amy's studio and are provided a producer and engineer to help develop their skills and confidence for the Amy’s Yard project. There are music therapy rooms funded by the Foundation for severely disabled children. They have equipped a new music studio at a day centre for young homeless.
Their Resilience Programme For Schools is reaching tens of thousands of children across the UK, educating them about the underlying causes of substance misuse such as low self esteem and peer pressure, and what can be done to prevent it.
Singing for pleasure, for catharsis and for a great cause, Mitch Winehouse and a sizzling jazz quartet, provide entertainment from the heart.

Amy Winehouse has been resurrected, revived and reimagined in this brand new, hilarious and uplifting show starring world renowned actor and singer, Alexis Fishman.
After the news arrives that her idol Tony Bennett would give anything to record with her again, Amy Winehouse finds her way back from where it is she went after her tragic death in 2011. She’s ripe for a comeback.
Expect the beehive, the foul mouth and all of Amy’s hits, including some you may never have heard before.
About Alexis:
Born and bred in Sydney, Australia, Alexis graduated from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) with a degree in Musical Theatre. She was nominated for a Helpmann Award for her performance as 'Young Dusty' in Dusty, her first job post graduation. Alexis then went on to star in some of Australia’s biggest musicals including Shout! and the award winning Australian premiere of Kiss of The Spiderwoman. Other credits include Urinetown, Closer, Troupers for the Sydney Theatre Company as well as plays at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival and Monkey Baa Theatre.
Alexis has lived in New York City since 2008 and performs extensively in cabaret and off-Broadway theatre. In 2012 she was awarded the New York Music Theatre Festival’s “Next Broadway Sensation” title and made her solo debut at 54 Below. She is the creator and star of Club Gelbe Stern, a one-woman musical set in Berlin 1933 which debuted in Australia in 2011 and made its US debut at the 2014 New York Musical Theatre Festival. Alexis was awarded ‘Outstanding Individual Performance’ at the festival’s Excellence Awards and she has performed somewhere in the world every year since. Her most recent show, Boychiks of Broadway, was performed at Shir Madness Jewish Music Festival, the Sound Lounge at the Seymour Center in Sydney and at Pangea in New York City.
Alexis also enjoys jumping on board Celebrity Cruise Line's biggest ships to rock out to the hits of Queen with Rock Rhapsody USA. (While not performing you can usually catch her sipping a piña colada in the hot tub.)

Amy and her music touched the lives of millions, and when she tragically passed away on July 23rd 2011, aged only 27, it didn’t just break the hearts of her family and close friends - it had a huge impact all over the world.
That’s why her family felt it was very important to keep her memory alive. On the 14th September of that year, they set up the Amy Winehouse Foundation - on what would have been Amy’s 28th birthday. Amy was passionate about helping people, and fully understood the problems that many of them face.
The Amy Winehouse Foundation works to prevent the effects of drug and alcohol misuse on young people. We aim to support, inform and inspire vulnerable and disadvantaged young people to help them reach their full potential.
